Lana Wilkinson stuns crowd at Oaks Day in GEORGY

When it comes to women’s fashion, nothing quite compares to the euphoria and planning that goes into the Racing Season and those carefully curated trackside ensembles. With Oaks Day traditionally signalled as Ladies Day, a soiree filled with feminine silhouettes, plenty of lace and luxury, Georgy Collection chose to make it’s mark in the most striking of ways. Hosting a table at the High Tea event, the day provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the forthcoming collection. And what better way to make a mark than with a table of women dressed head to toe in lavish lace, delicious floral’s and silhouettes designed to celebrate women in all their glory.

A table dedicated to Georgy women and the men stand proudly behind them.

With the crème de la crème of Adelaide’s fashion set attending the Morphetville Racecourse event, Georgy Collection stood loud amongst a sea eager racegoers looking to put their best fashion foot forward. With silhouettes designed to celebrate the female form and offer a dose of luxury, each Georgy woman exuded the kind of elegance and aura that was hard to ignore.

Attending the lunch of the South Australian racing calendar was stylist to the stars Lana Wilkinson. As the fashion force behind some of Australia’s most celebrated red carpet looks and a clientele base boasting the likes of Anna Heinrich and Nadia Bartel, Wilkison has long established her name as a fashion authority and trendsetter. As a highlight for many attendees on the day, all eyes were on Lana who opted to wear a Georgy dress to the event (I know, we are still pinching ourselves too).

With a plethora of luxury labels at her fingertips, Lana opted for the Georgy Collection Chantelle dress in red and pink. Adorned perfectly with a Sylvy Earl red hat and Lauren Marinis heels, the stylist took centre stage to put together as one of the most memorable looks on the day. Paying homage to the feminine and equally powerful memo of Oaks Day, the Lana showed that when it comes to Australian fashion, Georgy Collection has well and truly arrived.

Special guest, Channel 10 newsreader Rebecca Morse chose the Claudia design from the August collection as her ensemble for the day. The floral print and pink hues made for a dream Oaks Day story, with Morse showing a modern take on a traditional racing staple. With the feminine floral print offset by an eye catching high neck and clean lines, the dress adorned Rebecca’s statuesque figure perfectly.

Also in attendance was Channel 7 weather presenter Amelia Mulcahy. The gorgeous Mulcahy opted for a Georgy Collection best seller as her dress for the day. Showing that the delicate line between sexy and elegant can be balanced with ease with the right design, Amelia turned heads with her gorgeous lace slip paired with a body suit. Confident, and sophisticated, Amelia showcased the ethos of the Georgy brand, one which has seen it turn into a celebrity staple all but over night.

With Georgy Label still well and truly on everyone’s lips, Oaks Day signalled the arrival of a fresh Australian brand, which fills the elusive niche of affordable luxury without compromising on quality and that perfect cut. Though still in its infancy, the label worn by the likes of J-Lo and our very own fashion icon, Rebecca Judd proved to be the true winner of the day.   With Georgy designs worn by family, friends and the team behind the family-run label, the day was both a launch and celebration of the new kid on the fashion block.
